風速・風向タービンコントロール

We began selling to the wind turbine industry in 2002, and have worked closely with the top wind turbine manufacturers ever since to refine and improve our sensors. With over 70% of all offshore wind turbines using an FT sensor, we are the undisputed market leader in this sector.

FT wind sensors have no moving parts and do not need re-calibration. This reduces costly turbine down-time and maintenance visits. They are well suited to offshore applications with the incorporation of enhanced protection to prevent corrosion from high levels of salt spray. They have achieved a Class C5-M rating as recommended by the GL Renewables Guidelines for the Certification of Offshore Wind Turbines 2012 (Section 7.11.4).

For operation in ice-prone areas both onshore and offshore, the FT7 Series is fitted with a highly effective thermostatically controlled heating system. A three element heater (one element located in the top of the sensor and two in the bottom) helps to keep the sensor ice-free. The sensor has passed the demanding US military icing test MIL-STD-810G.

Further independent tests to recognised standards show that our sensors can withstand random and sinusoidal vibration, physical impact, lightning and EMC. The sensors have also passed a hail test with 50mm hailstones hitting it at 30m/s.

FT7 Series sensors can be supplied with an analogue or digital interface. They can be mounted either flat to a bar or, with the specially designed adapter, to a pipe. Both systems allow for quick and repeatable alignment of the sensor.
